Fortinet to focus on advanced threat protection at GISEC [ITP.net (United Arab Emirates)]
(ITP.net (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Network security specialist Fortinet has announced it will focus on advanced threat protection at the Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC), which will be held next week at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 9 to11 June.
"Looking at the various data breach incidents that made the news in 2013 and so far in 2014, it's clear that sophisticated threats continue to beat traditional defences," said Alain Penel, regional vice president, Middle East, Fortinet.
"Addressing these threats is top-of-mind for CIOs across the region. With the recent release of FortiOs 5.2, which incorporates numerous innovations that strengthen our Advanced Threat Protection Framework, coupled with the latest next-generation firewall, FortiGate-1500D, we are set to deliver unparalleled threat prevention and performance in a flexible-appliance form factor to further meet enterprises' requirements."
On the first two days of GISEC, Fortinet will present "Do not put your head in the Sandbox", a seminar that highlights the company's approach to sophisticated threats.
"There are many new approaches to detecting and mitigating the seemingly inevitable breaches that have gained growing attention, including Sandboxing," Penel added.
"However, it is only one part of a co-ordinated security effort to combat attacks. Often companies think deploying sandboxing technology will stop advanced persistent threats. While this technology is important, it is only a single element of the Advanced Threat Protection solution. Sandboxing deployments must be integrated with other threat protection capabilities in a continuous cycle of inspection, detection, containment and analysis. We will be talking about this in more detail during our sessions."
Fortinet is located at Stand SM - A40 at GISEC.
